Sebring Proves Good, not Great "Well it would have been pretty hard to top last year's pole" Adrien said. Indeed, after two days of physically demanded driving at the Sebring race track in Orlando, Florida, Adrien made gains over last years performance-but was unable to recapture the speed that put him on pole at last year's test. The track was primed for fast times; ChampCar and IRL had both laid down rubber before the ChampCar Atlantic even got driving. Herberts had a solid first day, putting the car into 7th. "7th is a good start. I know we can do better, but, theres alot of testing before the season starts and that is exactly why we test; to get better" Adrien commented. Paladin Motorsports and Adrien worked on some different setups from last year, taking advantage of Adrien's aggressive driving. "I drove a bit of a different style than last year. I tried being a bit harder on the car, 'leaning' on it more" Herberts said. On Wednesday, Adrien posted a time of 12th in the morning before switching 'gears' to focus on setups, not times. Paladin Motorsports used the second half of the day to experiment with certain car changes and setups that could be used at later tests. "Overall, a good couple days. I think we have to improve, but I'm not too worried. We just had to work out some kinks this test" says Adrien. Next Up is Laguna Seca Testing, March 10-11, 2008 |
